The first one of these films to make me think that maybe, just maybe, they were justified in continuing the franchise after the brilliant conclusion of #3.
It’s got a razor smart use of current societal fears, excellent character payoffs that feel earned, and boy oh boy did it move me to tears multiple times. The choice to center both Bonnie and Jessie as more prominent characters in this story was a smart one. Also can’t say enough about how stunning the new “play time” animation sequences were - just really inventive stuff that you don’t normally get five movies into a franchise like this.
Maybe they should just make these forever?
