Aaron's Thoughts
Honestly, not near as bad as I was expecting!
Very much enjoyed the quiet moments between Qualley and Elordi, but the rest of this felt disjointed and elementary. You never really buy into the world building & aside from some super basic motivations, we know almost nothing about the characters we are supposed to care so much about.
The whole film feels like it was completely stitched together in post. Whether it be loose threads that never get resolved or plot that doesn’t make sense, it’s almost as if they shot an entirely different movie & weren’t too worried about how cohesive the end product was.
Ridley is normally good for one or two sick action set pieces, but everything here felt forced and didn’t serve the story it should have been in service of. Especially whatever the heck that airport sequence was!
Still completely watchable though! Just not good.
