Aaron's Thoughts

There are no words to express just how sweet this movie is from start to finish. Laughed, cried, and even made me think that nepotism in the arts may not be a bad thing.

It’s indie filmmaking at its best. You get that stripped down and authentic feel of all the great indies while also playing with the art form in creative ways (loved the split screen stuff throughout).

The way that Steve Zahn and his real life daughter effortlessly play off of one another on screen is everything good about the magic of movies. Man, I’m just tearing up thinking about an extended scene between the two of them in a secluded practice room.

Is it a bit overwritten at times? Sure. Are there some cliches along the way? There are plenty of them to go around! But I’m willing to look past some of that when a movie is made with so much heart that it jumps off the screen and lingers with you for days after it ends.

Just a special special movie. And shoutout to Ethan Hawke for putting his name behind projects like this to help get things made
