Aaron's Thoughts
Far better than it has any right to be. Felt like a perfect little blend of three movies I adore - Wedding Crashers, Father of the Bride, & There’s Something About Mary. While it’s not as quite as good as any of those films, it’s charming and funny enough to warrant a watch.
It’s silly and over the top in the way that good comedies are but doesn’t push it so far that it takes you out of the movie (something the sequels can’t keep going). A massive part of that is due to Teri Polo (who I had never seen in anything previously) but does tremendous (and important) work keeping the film grounded in a real way that spurs you to be in Greg & Pam’s corner.
Just delightful all around!
