I hope they make 100 more of these!! Such a breath of fresh air.
One of my favorite feelings when I’m watching a movie is to not have any idea what’s going to happen next. Unpredictability isn’t the most important thing, but far too many modern movies have the entire story telegraphed within the first few minutes.
So what makes “Influencers” and its predecessor so fun is that not only do you have no idea where the movie is going, you have no idea what kind of movie it’s even going to be! In both films, I thought it was going to be one kind of movie in the first 15-20 minutes before the rug was pulled out from under me. So much fun!
