Went in expecting another crappy Amazon Prime movie & was pleasantly surprised that wasn’t the case at all.
Really like what Hemsworth is doing here. Him playing against type is fun to watch & a reminder of how much talent he squanders with 90% of the roles he takes. Also really dug how well conceived and executed the set pieces were from Bart Layton. Exciting to see someone given an opportunity to level up in scope/budget & knock it out of the park. Don’t see that very often.
And man oh man is Monica Barbaro going to be gracing the big screen for a long long time. Pretty clear that she signed onto this prior to the Oscar nomination as she’s only in like 4 scenes, but boy does she steal every scene she’s in. It’s a fairly shallow character yet she breathes so much life into it that your instantly captivated.
