Brief Encounter

So many masterful moments here ❤️ The hand on the shoulder, the gradual nature of the romance, the imagined confession narration, the circling back to the opening scene. It’s all so perfect.

Starting to notice that some of the best romance films of all time are all either under or right at 90 minutes (This, When Harry Met Sally, all three films in the Before trilogy, etc.). I don’t think that is a coincidence. Wish modern Hollywood would realize that longer doesn’t always equal better, especially in this genre.
