Boogie Nights

Yet to see something of PTA’s that I don’t love. Starting to really understand the obsession that so many have with his work. Currently working my way through all of his stuff before his next film comes out.

He’s so good at just occupying your brain with moments and characters that you remember the next day. He’s a master at weaving it all together in the film itself, but the staying power it has in your conscience is incredible. That really is the highest compliment of a piece of art today. So much of everything we consume (including most new films) are so forgettable apart from the plot. Not Boogie Nights. Characters and the vibe and needle drops and moments and laughs and tears will live in my head for a long long time.
