In a year where we already saw “The Idea of You”, “Lonely Planet”, and “A Family Affair” tackle similar stories of more seasoned female movie stars falling in love with younger male actors, you wouldn’t really think there would be room for “Babygirl”.
Thankfully, Halina Reijn’s follow up to “Bodies Bodies Bodies” is far more daring and has more to say than the other three combined (although doesn’t match the vibes of “The Idea of You”).
It just feels like it is missing something to make it great, but solid addition to the erotic thriller cannon (and the Nicole Kidman Christmas erotic thriller cannon).
